This page explains the network requests used by Global IP Lookup. Last updated August 5, 2026.
Information processed
Every website must receive an IP address to return a page to a visitor. When the checker runs, it requests the public IPv4 or IPv6 address visible to the service, approximate network location and provider information.
The page also reads limited information supplied by the browser, including browser type, operating system, screen dimensions, timezone and the browser's general connection category when available. This information is shown back to you in the dashboard.
Services used by the checker
The browser requests Global IP Lookup's own network endpoint, api.ipify.org, api6.ipify.org and ipwho.is. Those providers receive the network information required to answer the request and apply their own privacy and retention policies.
The application does not ask you to create an account, enter your name or grant GPS location permission. It does not store a history of lookup results in an application database.
Hosting and operational records
Hosting, security and network providers may process standard request logs to deliver the site, prevent abuse and maintain reliability. Those records can include an IP address, request time, requested path and browser request headers.
We do not currently load advertising scripts on the checker. If advertising is introduced later, this page will be updated before those scripts are enabled.
Your choices
You can leave the page without running another check. A VPN or proxy may change the public address visible to the checker, although those services have their own data practices.
Blocking the external lookup endpoints may prevent some IPv4, IPv6 or location results from appearing. The page will continue to identify unavailable information rather than asking for additional permissions.
