ABOUT THE TOOL
Clear network information, without false precision.
Global IP Lookup is a free browser-based tool for checking the public IP address and basic network information visible to internet services.
What the checker shows
The homepage checks whether the browser can reach public IPv4 and IPv6 endpoints. It also displays the internet provider, an approximate IP-based location and ordinary connection details reported by the browser.
The tool does not request access to device GPS. The globe marker represents a network estimate and may point to a nearby city, a provider gateway or a VPN server.
How results should be used
Use the result to confirm the public address presented by a connection, check whether IPv6 is available, verify that a VPN changed the visible address or troubleshoot basic routing information.
An IP address is not proof of a person's identity or exact physical location. Results can change as providers reassign addresses, devices move between networks or traffic passes through shared gateways.
Editorial approach
Our guides explain network concepts in plain language and separate technical facts from estimates. Pages include a publication date and are reviewed when the tool, underlying standards or referenced services materially change.
We do not publish invented precision or claim that an IP lookup can reveal a home address. When a result has limits, the interface and guides say so directly.
Data sources
The live checker combines the hosting network's request information with public IP endpoints from ipify and approximate network data from IPWho. Availability and accuracy can differ across networks and providers.
